Aux input is not working in the radio

When I plug the aux cord into my phone, there is no way for me to select the aux input on the radio. I've read online that, since the battery has been removed before, the radio probably has to be recoded to allow the input to be selected. I would just like to know as much information about this process as possible, assuming this sounds like the correct problem. Any idea how long this could take to fix, the cost, any other solutions. Thank you.

You will need to visit a Volkswagen workshop to have the service performed. Their equipment will be able to determine whether the fault has to do with coding, or a malfunction in the radio itself. They will be best equipped to replace the faulted components.

Check to make sure the input device, like your phone, is working properly. You may want to try the aux with a different input device, like your computer, if possible. Try using a different aux cable. Use a can of compressed air to clean out the aux port.
Remove the stereo and unscrew the bottom cover to check what`s happening with Port. Place all the springs on board and find if any spring disconnect then reconnects it. If all the spring connected perfectly then just press it to make sure if anything loose it can be fixed.
Either your jack has broken solder joints at the board or the internal contacts are bent or cracked. To repair the aux input, you can dismantle the unit and repair the solder or put in a new jack. It takes some expertise. Personally, for the price of car audio these days, I`d buy a new unit.
Normally, yes. The standard fuse panel inside the passenger compartment will have a fuse listed as auxiliary power or cigarette lighter.
This happens over time as wires move around simply because copper work hardens over time and will eventually snap. It`s the same as a metal hangar when you bend the metal by hand many times and can break it in half.
If your aux connection is broken and you don`t feel comfortable tackling the replacement job yourself, you will need to take your car to a mechanic or dealership to have it repaired. The cost of this repair will vary depending on the make and model of your car, but it is typically between $100 and $200.
Satellite radio is an option on the Jetta and an auxiliary jack comes standard.
AUX 3.5mm cable car audio input: Just plug the device into the extension port of the VW Jetta 2010 factory car stereo, connect it to your favorite MP3 player, iPod, iPhone, Android device or smartphone, and hear the CD quality music right away.
“Aux” is short for auxiliary heat. If a heat pump is having a difficult time coming up to a certain temperature quickly due to extremely cold outdoor temperatures, the “aux heat” indicator means that a secondary heat source (generally gas or electric) has been deployed.
The main reason for Front audio jack not working is related to the bad connection between the motherboard and the jack. In addition, improper audio device settings and outdated drivers are responsible for the problem.

I have a Subaru Impreza 2009 and the two charger ports do not work as aux and there is no aux cable input even though the radio aux.
ANSWER : Check the fuses with the auxiliary charging ports to see if they have burned. If the fuse is good, then there is an open or short within the wiring to the charging ports. The radio has an auxiliary wire attached to it to turn on the system. Check all of the wiring with a digital ohm meter to see if there is an open or a short that will cause the port to not operate properly. If you need further assistance with your charger ports not working, then seek out a professional, such as one from Your Mechanic, to help you.

Aux button on my radio
ANSWER : If the vehicle is equipped with an aux jack, it would be located in the center console bin, on the bottom towards the front. Later models have the jack located just in front of the shifter on the lower dash below the climate controls. If no aux jack is present, your local Ford dealer parts department may still be able to order an installation kit. If it is no longer available from Ford, a reputable stereo installation shop should be able to install one for you.

My dash board don’t work my front light work when I change my light into high beam and my back window won’t go down
ANSWER : As unfortunate as it is, your vehicle would be considered flood damaged. Diagnosing electrical problems in a flood damaged vehicle is nearly impossible. This would take many hours or even days to determine which wiring harnesses and circuits have been affected. Then nearly all of the wiring under the dash would likely require replacement as well as many sensors and switches. On a BMW vehicle, the amount of wires and switches are likely more than that of a lower end vehicle. Due to the inefficiency in cost, you would likely be able to purchase another BMW like yours for less than what it would cost to fix your car. Many insurance companies would consider this type of damage to total out the vehicle unfortuantely.

My back up camera, navigation and radio not working in my 2010 Toyota Camry after disconnecting the battery
ANSWER : First thing I notice is you say the 120 amp fuse was blown. That requires a substantial electrical short to blow. If you disconnect the positive side battery cable and touched any metal part of the car – even for an instant – you may have created that short. Whenever disconnecting the battery, always disconnect the negative cable first. With that large of an electrical short, it is possible that the internal power amplifier of the head unit may have shorted. With any large electrical short, the power spike can easily effect any electrical component in the vehicle. Some are more sensitive than others and will not withstand even a momentary short. It is also possible there is a software issue with the head unit. If you want to retain the original unit, then a trip to your local Toyota dealership for a diagnosis is the best thing to do. Another option is to try a reputable stereo repair and installation shop to explore options of repairing or replacing the existing unit.

Radio only works through steering wheel controls
ANSWER : It sounds like the radio unit in your vehicle may have partially failed to where the controls no longer work. I would recommend having your radio inspected by a qualified professional. This inspection may involve the removal of the radio and some sort of bench testing with a high tech scan tool or machine of some kind that is used specifically for the testing of automotive radio equipment. This electrical inspection may also include using a digital multimeter to test certain wires that connect to your radio that may control the use of the buttons on the face of the radio. If the inspection shows that your radio controls have shorted out, replace the radio if necessary to regain this function in your vehicle.

Windshield wipers stopped working. They’ll suddenly stop working then suddenly start working again. Has been happening for a week.
ANSWER : The problem you are describing likely stems from an intermittent electrical fault in the wiper circuit. The windshield wiper system uses a small electric motor to move the wiper arms that you see on the windshield. That electric motor is controlled through a switch, relay, fuse, and wiring. One, or more, of those electrical components has failed although it is also possible that the mechanical arms are binding (seized, if the lubricant has dried out) thus causing the electric circuit to the motor to overload. Regardless of the underlying fault, if you request a non functioning wiper diagnostic/repair, the responding certified mechanic will get this taken care of for you. Radio Fault
ANSWER : Hi Kritesh. It sounds like the stereo amplifier in your vehicle has failed internally, lost power, lost ground, or lost signal from the radio. Perform a quick check of the radio functions; change stations, adjust volume, etc… If all of these are showing proper changes on screen, then the problem definitely lies in the amplifier area. Using an electrical wiring diagram, locate the power source and ground for the amplifier and check with a digital volt ohm meter; repair as necessary. Based on my experience with Toyota & Lexus, I’ve found that the amplifier fails much more often than the radio. I suggest having a qualified technician perform an inspection to avoid replacing unnecessary parts. If available in your arear, Your Mechanic has several available technicians that can assist you with a radio has no sound inspection.
