My rear left turn signal will not work and I have replaced the bulb and checked the fuse.

In my audi, my rear left turn signal does not work. The front left and both signals on the right side all work. The front left blinks faster in oder to compensate. I have replaced the bulb but that did not work. I checked the fuse and they are all fine. I checked the socket and it looks clean. I am not sure what else to do.
My car has an automatic transmission.
Experienced mechanics share their insights in answering this question :
Hey there. The most likely problem is the bulb holder / socket itself. It may look fine but probably has a crack or break internally. Also possible (but rare) is the circuit board within the tail lamp housing itself. I recommend having a qualified professional, like one from YourMechanic, inspect the lights in person in order to have this corrected properly.

How to Identify and Fix Common car Problems ?

If there are no turn signals on either side, check the fuse as it may be defective. Another problem is both turn signals on one side not working. This could indicate bad bulbs or bad ground in both housings.
If it doesn`t come on at all or doesn`t blink, you`ll need to replace your turn signal relay. Your turn signal relay is as easy to replace as a headlight, and they are almost never expensive. Some vehicles have separate flasher relays for turn signals and hazard lights.
A faulty switch can be one of the main reasons why the turn signals don`t work. It is also good to check the parking lights, which usually utilize the turn signal bulbs. If the parking lights and hazards come on, but that side doesn`t illuminate when you hit the switch, then it`s a circuit problem.
If both lights are not working, this is likely a sign of a blow fuse or a dysfunctional flasher. This could also be due to a corroded socket or damaged bulbs, which are a slightly more complicated issue.
Like all of the lights on and in a vehicle, turn signals rely on a fuse. When the fuse blows, electric power to the turn signals will be shut off entirely. Burnt out bulbs: As with all light bulbs, turn signal lights can burn out and die.
Green is for the right turn signal. Yellow is for left turn signal.
Answer: The most common problem is a shorted light bulb causing trouble, an electrical short in the signal switch, or bad flasher relay.
A blinker fuse is any fuse that burns through a line of blinkers.
A turn signal relay (also known as a flasher relay) is the electronic device that controls your car`s turn signal lights. The clicking sound when you activate your turn signals usually comes from the turn signal relay.
If the turn signal stays solid on the dash instead of blinking, that typically indicates a failed bulb. If the bulb is not the issue, check the connector at the turn signal for both power and ground. It looks like both turn signal bulbs share the same ground point, but the ground side wiring could be faulty.
Left Turn Hand Signal: How Do I Perform It? Before making a left turn or changing lanes from right to left, stick your left arm with fingers extended, straight out of your vehicle past your side mirror.
If the turn signal stays solid on the dash instead of blinking, that typically indicates a failed bulb. If the bulb is not the issue, check the connector at the turn signal for both power and ground. It looks like both turn signal bulbs share the same ground point, but the ground side wiring could be faulty.
One of the biggest causes of a faster-than-usual turn signal might be a burned-out lightbulb for that side. A burned-out lightbulb could be an essential cog of an annoyingly fast blinking turn signal that doesn`t stop since the bulb is sending an irregular current in the indicator system.

Okay so when I turn my lights on at night my brake lights do not work, when I don’t have my lights on they work fine.
ANSWER : Hi there. Based on your inquiry, it’s highly probable that you have a damaged light switch or some electrical fault inside the turn signal relay. However, it’s also possible that the brake switch above the brake pedal could also be the source of your problem. Due to the fact that multiple electrical components might be causing this issue, it’s a smart idea to first have a professional mobile mechanic complete a brake lights are not working inspection, so they can determine what’s causing all of these issues and recommend the right repairs.

Left turn signal and DRL aren’t working properly
ANSWER : A couple of faults could cause this issue. The most likely would be a wiring issue, the turn signal relay or an improper bulb. The most likely cause in this case would be a wiring issue, if the lights were shorted to power, they would stay on at all times and the fault would not trigger the ECU that a bulb is out. A qualified technician, such as one from YourMechanic, will be able to diagnose your light problems and proceed with the appropriate repairs.

My front flashers turn signals and brake lights dont work. I have replaced the bulbs and checked the fuses. What could cause these
ANSWER : The different lights all go through the turn signal light turn switch. If the brake light switch is not working at all then the third brake light would not work. You will need to replace turn signal switch and check brake light switch also and replace it if no third brake light is working.

Right, Rear Turn Signal Not Working but its a New Bulb
ANSWER : It only takes a small amount of corrosion to interrupt the flow of current. You probably just have a dirty light socket. If you get a small strip of 400 grit sandpaper and rub it on the contact surfaces in the bulb socket, that will probably get you working. If that doesn’t do the trick, you have to get a test light or a meter and go hunting for the interruption. If you would like to have a technician do this for you, you can contact Your Mechanic and have one come to your home or office and check out your turn signals for you.

Chrysler car, replaced turn signal switch and flasher relay and turn signals still do not come on either right or left, no turn si
ANSWER : Hello, thank you for writing in. If the electrical components are all working individually, then the issue is likely relating to the wiring between them. The best way to trace the issue is with a voltmeter. In doing so you start with the power supply starting at the fuse box and work your way down the circuit. When you find where the voltage cuts off, you will have found the wire or component that has failed. You will want a wiring circuit to help you through this process. Often when after market components have been installed around the wiring it can become damaged. Double check any of these areas. The switch and steering column will both need to be tested as well. Electrical Short/Power dimming when brakes pressed. Turn signal fuse blowing. 1980 Dodge B200
ANSWER : Hello – you have electrical problems for sure, possibly more than one. A short in the steering column wiring seems likely. This problem can be diagnosed by connecting an ammeter to the positive (red) battery cable, observe the current drain (likely less than 1 amp), then, one at a time, remove each fuse, check to see if the current drain has dropped to near 0, then reinsert the fuse. start with the brake/turn signal lighting circuit. This process should identify the faulty circuit in most cases. The specific components on that circuit can then be checked for current drain problems. A professional mechanic, like YourMechanic, can come to your location, and perform this procedure for you, and replace/repair the failing component.

Just replaced head gasket, changed crack sensor new plugs. The check engine light is on, but dim, the only other light that the dash is a normal battery indicator. The fuel pump is not running when switch is turned on, the power windows don’t work, it turns over but not firing. It’s like only one part of the system is working. Also the heater fans work even if the switch is off.
ANSWER : I would first look at the diagnostic trouble codes. Those codes are available because the check engine light is on. If the fuel pump is not running (momentarily) at key on, that fault alone will prevent the car from starting as there will be no fuel pressure. Pump output and pressure can be directly tested and you can also check for electrical power to the pump. To find out why the engine will not run, the recommended diagnostic is a no start diagnostic.
