My car engine is currently shot, and needs a replacement, is there any engines I can snap fit inside with little too know mods?

My 2002 oz rally engine is currently dead dude to oil maintenance, and is no longer drivable.I would like to know if there is any engines that would be able to be swapped to replace it, that involves little too no modifications . It is a 5 speed manual .

My car has 180000 miles.
My car has a manual transmission.

Experienced mechanics share their insights in answering this question :
You can put just about any engine into your car but it will need to have modifications done to fit the engines. The 2000 through 2005 models have the same engine. I recommend putting in the same engine as what came with the car. If you are unable to locate the manufacture engine, then look at the engine serial number and perform a cross reference on the number to determine what other vehicles will have the same engine. An EVO engine will fit, but the rear transmission mount will need to be modified. If you need further assistance with your engine swap, then seek out a professional, such as one from Your Mechanic, to help you.

How to Identify and Fix Common car Problems ?

There are two categories that an engine swap can fall into, one being a like-for-like exchange where the replacement engine is built to fit in a certain car, and a non-factory specific swap which needs modifications to get the new engine to fit and function.
Most manufacturers recommend breaking in new cars, and you can find this information in your vehicle`s manual. Breaking in an engine ensures that early engine wear is kept to a minimum, and that the oil flows smoothly and evenly through all moving parts.
Not all cars can have their engines swapped out for another, but those that do will be listed in our guide below. You will learn about all types of engines available in the game, as well as all the car models that can use various types of engines for better performance.
It`s definitely possible to put a new engine in an older vehicle, but you`ll want to check that it`s compatible with components of the car like the transmission. If it works, replacing the engine will make your car more powerful and more reliable.
Yes, a modern engine can absolutely fit in an older car. This involves a bit of fabrication and rewiring, but if you have time, skills, and money, (or just lots of money) it is perfectly doable.
Your engine may not last as long. Oil may gather in the cylinder wall, causing the engine to consume more oil than necessary. The cylinder wall may get worn out quicker than expected. The camshaft lobes could wear incorrectly, causing the valves to open and close at the wrong intervals.
Swapping out a damaged engine with a lower mileage used engine (from a wreck for example) is risky and not advisable. Especially since some makes and models have engines that are known to have a high rate of engine rebuild history.
An engine replacement won`t reset your car`s odometer. In fact, your car`s odometer should never be reset, as it`s one of the foremost ways of tracking a car`s age and wear and tear.
It`s rare, but sometimes great engineering minds decide to whack another engine in, because why the hell not! Mostly reserved for publicity stunts or extreme concepts, twin-engined cars normally share a throttle and clutch system to synchronise gear changes and the inlet of fuel and air.
New engines offer a long-term, reliable solution to your car troubles. On the other hand, used vehicles may come with their own set of engine problems. If your used vehicle replacement encounters engine issues, you could end up paying twice as much in the long run.
All in all, modern car engines are more efficient, smaller, relatively more powerful, smarter, and less prone to wear and tear. On the other hand, repairs and servicing now require more skill and consume more time.

Engine swaps can potentially improve: Older auto models` performance, since engine replacements help them better adhere to modern performance standards. Vehicles` lifespans, even with no major updates otherwise. Financial savings, because engine swapping is usually less expensive than buying a new vehicle.
The difficulty of performing a swap varies based on the combination of the auto body and the engine you are working with. Even the most straightforward swap, however, can be tricky. Each engine requires its own electronic system, and your transmission, fuel delivery, and steering may also need to be updated.
You can, but I wouldn`t recommend it if you like the car. On a modern car, it typically, it isn`t worth it. Even on platforms where there is a V8 option, switching from a V6 to a V8 can be a major hassle.

Check engine light refuses to go off after engine replaced
ANSWER : Hello there, you have a long series of issues going on with your 2013 Hyundai Sonata. If you keep getting a repeating oil light on than there is likely a fault in that system.

Since this fault has lasted after the engine was replaced it could be a oil pressure sensor, wiring harness fault, ECU fault, oil pump, oil strainer clogged, or low oil pressure.

To diagnose this issue properly you need a complete vehicle inspection to start from square one and identify the root cause of all this.

Should I buy an Acura tl 2009 with an engine replacement at 70k miles?
ANSWER : If a used engine was installed, to make a wise decision you would need to know exactly how many miles were accumulated on that used engine PRIOR to its transplant to the car that you are looking at. However, if a "new" engine was installed, then you might have the opposite of a red flag which is a good deal but even that depends on whether the "new" engine was actually properly installed according to the instructions. The only real "red flags" in a car purchase are collision damage (whether such damage is repaired or not stay away), rust, abuse, and lack of maintenance. Consequently, the mere fact that a "part", even a part as big as "the engine", was replaced is not important. What is important is whether the part was PROPERLY installed and, in your particular circumstance, if the part was "used", exactly how many miles were on it prior to installation in the present car? And, of course, is the engine presently functioning well (it can be tested and evaluated, to some extent, during an inspection).

With regard to any used car purchase, you want to confirm that the vehicle has NEVER been in a collision (Carfax might be helpful) and that the vehicle does not have any outstanding recall-related repairs. Apart from that, inasmuch as used car repair, maintenance, and restoration costs are highly dependent on the actual, as found, condition of the vehicle, the only way to get a reasonably precise estimate of costs you might face, and also to protect yourself in the transaction, is to request a pre-purchase vehicle inspection. That inspection, carried out by a certified Mechanic, dispatched to your location, will give you the exact data you need to make an intelligent, informed decision about any car. If you look at the just cited link for YourMechanic’s inspection service, you will see a long list of the vehicle systems that must be inspected as well as details of YourMechanic’s inspection methodology. If you need further help, please do not hesitate for a moment to re-contact YourMechanic and we will assist you further in your attempts to make a wise used vehicle purchase.

need advice about replacing current engine with an engine from another car
ANSWER : This is going to be very hard to do since the car is a Toyota and the engine is a Nissan. There is too many differences that it would not be recommended to even try to do it. The computers, sub frame, wiring, fuel supply, engine bay clearance, engine mountings, transmission and the list could go on for things that will need to be modified or changed.

Engine swap details needed. I need to know if the swap will fit.
ANSWER : Hi there. When it comes to swapping engines for your vehicle, what you can do is check all of the engine mounts and transmission mounts and make sure that they will work. If the mounts are a little off but there is room, then you may have to retro fit a custom mount. Check the length of the engine and the transmission assembly together. Make sure that the assembly is the same length. It may be okay if it’s a few inches shorter or longer, however, it cannot exceed 3 inches or the assembly will not fit. There has to be room for the engine to move around. Also, keep in mind, the CV shafts may not match up to the transmission and wheel hubs, especially if the transmission is shorter or longer. If you need further assistance with swapping your engine with another engine, then seek out a professional, such as one from Your Mechanic, to help you.

I need to know the tempature difference inside a car (car turned off and windows are up) and outside a car during the summer
ANSWER : Hi, thanks for your question. I’d be happy to provide my insight. You may notice as much as a 40 or 50 degree (Fahrenheit) increase from the inside and outside the car in the summer. You can try and put an oven thermometer in the car and see how hot your car gets. This is why the AC takes a while to cool the inside of the car. The color of the car and interior color and material will also make a difference on how hot it gets. Here is also an article by us on how to quickly cool down a car on a hot day. Hope this helps and best of luck!

Replaced alternator on car 2 times each time shows it’s charging 14v let car run for a little bit then test drive and car voltage
ANSWER : There are reports that the replacement alternators will not communicate with the engine computer and will not charge correctly. I recommend using only the manufacturer approved replacement part. It can be new or remanufactured but approved for use in the vehicle. Some lower cost alternators on the aftermarket will have charging problems since they will not communicate with the ECM on the vehicle and will stop charging.

I have a 2010 camry. I just recently replaced the engine with a 2014 camry engine. Now I have Four engine lights on. I replaced on
ANSWER : If you swapped the engine from a vehicle that is 4 years newer than the car is then you are going to have electrical and sensor incompatibilities that may not be able to be fixed by just a few sensor replacements. There were many changes in computer and emission related items between 2010 and 2014 engines. I would recommend having a mechanic like one from YourMechanic come to you and compare the two engines to isolate the possible differences and see if the problem can be fixed.
