Why is the brake light on while driving? When your brake light comes on, your car is letting you know that either your vehicle is low on brake fluid, the emergency brake is activated, there`s trouble within the ABS unit, or there`s a problem with the sensors.
See a professional as soon as possible. A red light that flashes on and off could signal low/almost empty brake fluid, but also a serious issue with the brake`s hydraulic system. If the light comes on and stays on, you could end up with a potentially catastrophic (and costly) brake failure.
The brake warning light is very serious. When you see it come on, check to make sure your emergency brake is off, then stop driving as soon as you get the chance. If you are running low on brake fluid, your brakes may stop working altogether.
If it remains lit after the parking brake is released or if it turns on and off intermittently while you`re driving, it means you need to add brake fluid. If you check the fluid, add as needed and the light still doesn`t turn off, you`ll need to have the brake system inspected.
Insert the key (or key fob) in the ignition. Move the key to position 2, but don`t start the ignition. Open the driver`s door and wait for approximately 10 seconds. After completing the above three steps, the brake pad lights should reset!
Brake System Warning Light

Indicates that the brake fluid level is low or the brake system is malfunctioning. This light also comes on when the parking brake is not released. If the light turns off after the parking brake is fully released, the system is operating normally.

Brake Pad Wear Indicator Light. The brake pad light is indicated as a circle inside dotted brackets, and it warns you when you have worn brake pads. If that`s the case, your braking ability will begin to suffer. For reference, brake pad thickness varies depending on the make and model of your vehicle.
Press and hold the EPB switch until the brake warning light on the instrument panel starts to flash. Continue to hold the switch until the flash goes off. 4. Release the switch and press it again, the parking brake should now be reset.
Faulty Switch: One common reason for the Parking Brake light to stay on is a failing or failed switch. This can be checked easily by moving the handle to and fro after it is down. If the light turns off (or turns off and then back on), the switch is the most likely culprit and will need to be replaced.
If a sensor goes bad, then you may experience wheel lock or notice that there is low fluid in the reservoir. The anti-lock brake system fluid level sensor monitors the level of the brake fluid in the reservoir in order to inform the driver if the level falls below the minimum safe level in the event of a malfunction.
Low brake fluid will cause air to fill the gaps in your brake line—leading to soft brakes. Spongy brake pedals can be both terrifying and dangerous—especially if you do not get them serviced at the first sign of an issue.

When I put my foot on the brake my back left brake light goes off, when I take it off the brake the brake light comes on
ANSWER : I would suggest trying to disconnect and reconnect the wiring to the rear lights. I have seen these older Toyota vehicles rear lighting short out on the lights themselves due to the way the light circuit was made on the lamp housing. Look at the housing circuit on the light to see if one is touching another, and that could tell you why it is malfunctioning. There could also be a problem with the brake light switch. If you are not comfortable dealing with wires, I recommend getting in touch with a certified mechanic who can look at your brake light issue for you to see what’s going on.

Why does my ABS lights in dash come on after driving for a while on my 2011 Hyundai Sonata
ANSWER : Hello. If this issue has occurred ever since the work was done then I would suspect that there is something that was not installed correctly. If you are getting noise also then the ABS wheel speed sensor may be contacting the tone ring which will cause all of these issues. It may also be a bearing that is bad which will cause this.
