I very recently purchased a 2007 Ford Mustang V-6 in great condition, everything for the most part works okay. However just yesterday I noticed that the passenger side low beam light "was out", although the high beams from the same bulb worked fine as do the driver's side low and high beams, I changed the bulb to a new one and nothing, the low beam didn't even come on. So then I changed the part which this "H13" bulb plugs in to, and I rewired it all correctly to this brand new headlight plug. The low beam
Hey there, thanks for writing in about your 2007 Mustang. The low beam circuit is monitored by the the Smart Junction Box. It’s the fuse box in the right kick panel. Basically what this means is if the resistance, or the current flow in the circuit is not within the specified range, it will turn off the power to it. That’s why you won’t find a fuse for the low beams. It will re-check the circuit every time the ignition key is cycled. The circuit flows from the SJB through the fuse box under the hood, and then to the headlights. Inspect as much of the wiring as you can. Especially where it might have been tampered with for the HID lights. If there is a short to power or ground, or too much or not enough resistance, it will turn off the power. This is not the case with your fog lamps and high beams. They are powered by a relay that is fused, and the circuit is not monitored. It will simply blow a fuse if there’s a problem. If you need more help, consider YourMechanic, as a certified technician from YourMechanic can come to your car’s location to diagnose and repair the headlight problem.

It was once the norm to have separate bulbs for your high beams and low beams, but most modern cars have only a single bulb with two filaments on each side of the vehicle that performs the work of both the high beams and the low beams. There are a few different types of bulbs available.
On classic mustangs, it`s a round looking switch mounted on the floor near the kick panel.
Unlike the previous bulb types, the H11 bulb uses an L-shaped design. As for its primary function, such types of bulbs are used for the low beam in headlights. In fact, this type of bulbs can be used in both headlights as well as fog lights if needed.
The Difference Between H11 and 9005 Bulbs
An H11 can last an average of 30,000 hours, while a 9005 can last up to 50,000 hours. However, it`s important to mention that despite having a shorter lifespan than the 9005, the H11 still lasts longer than most headlight bulbs.
Auto High-Beam Headlamps
This driver-activated system with windshield-mounted camera scans the road at speeds above 25 miles per hour.
Projector Halo Headlights are popular among Mustang enthusiasts and give your front end a dramatic halo effect and are available in bright chrome or dark smoked.
As per the Highway Code, you must use dipped headlights “when visibility is seriously reduced”, i.e., when you are able to see less than 100m in front of you. So basically, any time you`re driving at night or during bad weather.
Whether an LED headlight—which consists of multiple LEDs—is set to low beam or high beam is dependent on the number of lights that are shining. When set to low beam, the individual lights of the LED will adjust to create a defined line so there is no light coming out above the beam.
Fog Resources
Make your vehicle visible to others both ahead of you and behind you by using your low-beam headlights since this means your taillights will also be on. Use fog lights if you have them. Never use your high-beam lights.
Yes, H8 and H11 are the same bulbs they just carry different part numbers, positions, and default wattages for standard halogen bulb replacements. Aside from these minor differences, H8 and H11 are identical on every other front from size and shape to locking tabs and connectors.
The combination of quality and visibility make it a clear choice as our top recommendation. However, those trying to save as much as they can will do just fine with the Philips H11 Standard Halogen Replacement Headlight Bulb.
H11 and 7 lamps will generally be better than H4 as the lens is designed for the one job (dipped or main), whereas an H4 bulb has both dipped and main in the one bulb so the lens is comprised to do both duties.
If you`re in a rush, let us save you some time – H11 and H7 are not the same bulb, you cannot replace one with the other, and neither is better than the other, they simply have different designs and fit on different vehicles and/or different beams.
Standard H11 bulbs are 55 watts whereas standard 9005 (HB3) bulbs are 65 watts. The 9005 come in a higher wattage because they are often used in high beams and in some cases as dual-beam bulbs, which require more output.
Porsche, BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo are a few that feature some type of adaptive headlights on much of their range. Many mainstream vehicles now have adaptive headlights, too. Ford, Subaru, Toyota, Hyundai, and Honda are among automakers that include adaptive headlights even on some entry-level models.
S550 Mustangs got LED taillights from the factory starting with the 2015 model, so all S550s have them. However, you may still want to update the look of your taillights with a different style taillight assembly or cool lighting effects.
The legendary `Pony` logo has become synonymous with Ford Mustang. Phillip Thomas Clark is credited with designing the Mustang Logo. Lee Iacocca said the Mustang is a wild horse not a domesticated racer!
Executive stylist John Najjar, who was a fan of the World War II P-51 Mustang fighter plane, is credited by Ford with suggesting the name. Najjar co-designed the first prototype of the Ford Mustang known as the “Ford Mustang I” in 1961, working jointly with fellow Ford stylist Philip T. Clark.
When you cannot see farther than 200 feet using low-beams, you should switch to high-beams, unless: Another vehicle is within 200 feet and approaching you from the opposite direction. You are less than 200 feet behind another vehicle. Heavy rain, fog, or snow are present.
Full beam headlights are the brightest type of headlight on normal vehicles. They are angled higher than dipped headlights, allowing you to see more of the road, and are sometimes known as high beams.
The top of the low beam shining on the wall should be at or slightly below the height of the center of the headlight lens for most vehicles. You should expect the light pattern to be higher on the right side (passenger side) to illuminate road signs and lower on the driver`s side to prevent blinding other drivers.
HID Headlights: Brighter and More Efficient
The result is a bright, whiter light than halogen bulbs. They are also more efficient and typically last longer. HID headlights are sometimes referred to as Xenon lights because of the gas found inside.
HIDs are very efficient compared to CFL and incandescent lights (120 lumens/watt source efficiency). They lose out to LEDs principally because their system efficiency is much lower (<30 lumens/watt) due to all of the losses associated with omnidirectional light output and the need to redirect it to a desired area.
For example, the H4 bulb has two filaments (one for high beam and the other for low beam), whereas the H7 only has one. A conventional headlight with a single reflecting surface can use an H4 bulb. But if a vehicle uses H7 bulbs, it has to have a twin-pod setup, one pod for high and the other for low beam.
