ABS feature is available in all models of Nissan Sunny [2011-2014].
ABS has been a standard feature since 2012, so you probably have it. You can check by looking for an ABS light at startup in the gauge cluster. The ABS light will come on while the system is checked and then turn off. If you don`t see it there, you can always check your owner`s manual to make sure.
Luckily, cars made after 2012 were legally required to have anti-lock brakes, so odds are your vehicle has them. The best way to tell is when you start your engine. When the lights on the dashboard flicker, you should see ABS pop up and then disappear. Another great place to check would be the owner`s manual.
Yes, all modern cars have ABS brakes as standard.
Studies have found that vehicles equipped with ABS systems are 35% less likely to be a part of a collision or accident than a vehicle without anti-lock brakes. The Anti-lock braking system uses wheel sensors and other essential components sensing skid conditions that activate the ABS.
The most popular cars with Antilock Braking System in India are Mahindra Thar (Rs. 10.54 – 16.78 Lakh), Maruti Jimny (Rs. 12.74 – 15.05 Lakh), Maruti FRONX (Rs. 7.46 – 13.13 Lakh) including SUV, MUV, Hatchback, Sedan, Pickup Truck, Minivan, Convertible, Coupe and Wagon. To know more about the latest prices and offers of.
All you have to do is connect the device to your OBD2 carport and run an ABS test. From there, you will have a clearly identified trouble code about what is wrong with the ABS. With this pinpointed information, you can easily diagnose and fix the issues with your vehicle.
When ABS is engaged, you can still manoeuvre around obstacles. Without ABS, when using maximum braking in a panic situation, you may lock your wheels and subsequently lose steering control.
If the ABS system is not functioning properly, then your vehicle is likely to skid, hydroplane and lose traction under heavy braking conditions. The last time you want to find this out is when you need it most in tough conditions, which could lead to an accident on the road.
The modern ABS system was invented in 1971 by Mario Palazzetti (known as `Mister ABS`) in the Fiat Research Center and is now standard in almost every car. The system was called Antiskid and the patent was sold to Bosch who named it ABS.
Rear-wheel ABS keeps your vehicle from spinning out of control, but you will not have steering control if the front wheels lock up. All other ABS systems-including those for cars and minivans–are designed to keep all four wheels from locking up.
Despite the general impression that ABS equipped vehicles can stop faster than those without, in general this is not true. ABS is primarily intended to help prevent the loss of control (caused by locked brakes), not to in some magical way, make the brakes more effective at stopping the vehicle.
The anti-lock braking system (ABS) is designed to stop your car from skidding when you brake sharply. If a car is travelling at speed when the driver brakes hard, the wheels could lock. This can cause the car to lose traction and the driver to lose control of the steering. ABS makes this less likely to happen.
ABS types. There are three basic types of anti-lock braking systems: four-channel/four-sensor, three-channel/three-sensor and one-channel/one-sensor.
ABS comes in two types: two-wheel and four-wheel. Some light trucks and vans have a two-wheel anti-lock braking system on the rear wheels that maintains directional stability. Although the front wheels can still lock up, the vehicle continues to move in a straight line.
Signs of a failed ABS system include ABS light always ON, on your dash, the car not braking correctly (brake pedal feels different to normal), or loss of control while braking. Reduced braking performance – A failing ABS relay can cause reduced braking performance, especially during hard braking.
C0221 is an OBD-II code that shows up when you have a problem with the right front wheel speed sensor. The sensor is a small device that is attached to the wheel hub. It is also referred to as the ABS sensor.
The anti-lock function will stop working properly, which may increase the distance it takes to safely stop your vehicle. The rear tires will lock, which will increase vehicle swing on turns and may make your vehicle more difficult to control.
CARS.COM — ABS stands for antilock braking system, and if the ABS warning light is illuminated in your car`s gauge cluster, that means the antilock system has been deactivated because of a malfunction.
ABS module repairs can be done right in your driveway. Competitive, upfront pricing. Professional, ASE-certified technicians perform the repairs.
In short, changes in the base brake system characteristics (hardware) may impact ABS/TCS/ESP performance in any or all of these three areas.
The four common reasons that typically cause this light to turn on include a malfunctioning ABS module, low levels in the fluid reservoir, broken wheel speed sensors, or the system is turned off. Your ABS actually shares some important components with another system in your vehicle: your traction control system.
ABS history

The first road car to feature ABS was the 1966 Jensen FF. The FF was the first production sports car to feature four-wheel drive, and it also used the Maxaret anti-lock system to improve stopping distances.

Chrysler 300 2005 abs not working. Code c2116. Does this mean my abs pump is dead for sure? Or could it be abs sensors.
ANSWER : Hi there. Take a digital volt meter and check the voltage on the harness to the ABS control motor. There should be a battery voltage present. If the voltage is low, then there is a break in the wiring from the computer to the ABS control motor. If the voltage is normal, then the ABS control motor has a burned cell and the ABS controller assembly would need replaced. This will effect the ESP system as well and set off the lights. If you need further assistance with your ABS system not working, then seek out a professional, such as one from Your Mechanic, to help you.

Replaced alternator on car 2 times each time shows it’s charging 14v let car run for a little bit then test drive and car voltage
ANSWER : There are reports that the replacement alternators will not communicate with the engine computer and will not charge correctly. I recommend using only the manufacturer approved replacement part. It can be new or remanufactured but approved for use in the vehicle. Some lower cost alternators on the aftermarket will have charging problems since they will not communicate with the ECM on the vehicle and will stop charging.

I have a Nissan Sentra 2011 and I noticed Security Indicator Light is always on when car is locked ? Is that normal?
ANSWER : Hello, thank you for writing in. The anti-theft system is absolutely supposed to be on when the vehicle is off and locked. The vehicle assumes you are away from it, and at this point it needs to be protected. Your owner’s manual will have more information on the system and how it works. If you suspect that the system is malfunctioning, you will want to have it inspected. However, with what you are describing, it should be working just fine. For any further help with the security system or future repairs, contact our service department.

Power steering loss, no belts are turning but the car is running fine. I also have a soft pedal. Whats wrong with my car?
ANSWER : I have only seen this situation once in my 30+ years and it turned out to be a broken crankshaft pulley. Belts are driven by the engine. The crankshaft pulley spins the belts, which in turn spin the air conditioner compressor, power steering and water pumps, and the alternator. The vehicle should be towed to your local repair shop and not driven. Without the water pump spinning to circulate the coolant, the engine will quickly overheat and result in more extensive damage.

I have a 2011 nissan versa when I start my car the radiator fan kicks right on and stays on all day. Also the AC isn’t blowing col
ANSWER : Hi There,
It sounds like you may have a faulty coolant fan relay. The coolant fan relay helps to maintain the proper coolant temperature by turning on and off at specific temperature thresholds. When this relay is not working properly, this can cause the fans to come on intermittently, stay on all the time or sometimes not at all. Your AC relies on a refrigerant that is compressed and used to produce the cool air that comes out of the vents when you turn the AC on. When this refrigerant runs low, as it sometimes does, this may cause the AC to blow hot air rather than the cool air you are used to. This is fixed by recharging the AC system with new refrigerant. I would suggest having a professional from YourMechanic come to your location to diagnose and inspect your vehicle.

Oil leaking from under car and "remote control car" sound when car is first started for a few minutes until it warm up.
ANSWER : Hello,
There are a number of things that could make an engine noisy when starting up. Depending on the specific type of sound you are referring to, this will determine how to properly diagnose. If there is a bit of a hissing sound, this may be a sign of a vacuum leak. If this is more of a shrieking sound, this may be a sign of a worn out or out of adjustment serpentine belt. If there is a bit of a howling or growling sound, this may be a sign of a worn out or low on fluid power steering pump. A rattling or pinging sound may be caused by an ignition problem. An engine can ping (or knock) due to an improper combustion process. A "spark knock" is the result of combustion occurring too early. Early combustion can occur from carbon buildup inside the combustion chamber, a lean air/fuel mixture, and advanced ignition timing (spark plug firing too soon). A clattering type sound may be a result of improper lubrication in the valve train which could be a more serious problem and should be addressed as soon as possible. I would suggest having an expert from YourMechanic come to your location to diagnose and inspect your vehicle to ensure everything is in proper working order.
