Missing hose and need help identifying it. Please help.

Lost hose that is located under the two heater hoses after doing a repair. New to working on my vehicle, I tried to plug the hole and afterwards, water began leaking in my car from under the dash. I do have a picture if able to post of where it would be located but do not see a place to post under this question. Either way, do you possibly know what the hose would be officially called so I may replace it? Thank you!
My car has an automatic transmission.
Experienced mechanics share their insights in answering this question :
Hi there. The hose that you are describing sounds like the heater core by-pass hose. If the hose is short and straight, then it would be the heater by-pass hose. The heater by-pass hose it to by-pass the heating system until the engine is hot. If you need further assistance with your coolant hoses, then seek out a professional, such as one from Your Mechanic, to help you.

The PCV valve can get stuck open or clogged with sludge and should be inspected regularly and replaced when required. If the PCV valve is failing it can cause your Ford Focus`s engine to run rough and you may notice some exhaust smoke and oil leaks.
How Long Will the 2012 Ford Focus Last? A properly cared for 2012 Ford Focus will last about 150,000 miles, which is shorter than the competitors. The regular annual maintenance costs are much more expensive than other compact cars. Repair Pal estimates them to be $604 per year.
Common signs of a faulty PCV valve include excessive oil consumption, oil leaking, a blocked breather filter, and reduction in overall performance.
One way to check whether a PCV valve is functioning is to remove it from the hose or tube and shake it. If you can hear a metallic rattling noise, it`s likely in good working order. If you do not hear anything when you shake the valve, it is likely that it is no longer opening and closing like it should.
Either unscrew it or pull the rubber housing off the valve. Shake the valve. If there`s a sharp, metallic clicking sound, it`s still working. If there`s a subdued thunk, or no sound at all, the valve has seen better days.
The Ford Focus is a reliable vehicle that can, with proper maintenance, last up to 200,000 miles.
Overall, both the Ford Focus Titanium and the Ford Focus ST-Line are impressive cars and both offer excellent features and benefits. The Ford Focus Titanium is better suited to drivers who prefer to ride in comfort and is a more practical car well-suited to families.
If you`re looking to buy an older model Ford Focus—which will likely be your cheapest option—we`d recommend one built between 2006 and 2008, as they have high ratings from J.D. Power and Kelley Blue Book.
Bad PCV valves can cause engine oil contamination, sludge build-up, oil leaks, high fuel consumption, and other engine-damaging problems, depending on the type of failure.
Over time, the PCV valve and its related components are exposed to extreme temperatures and pressures. Prolonged exposure to these forces can cause these parts to swell, stick in place, or even grow brittle and crack.

Please help me figure out where my PCV valve and PCV Hose is!!!
ANSWER : Hi there. The PCV valve is located on bank 1; the valve cover closest to the cabin. It is usually found under the intake plenum towards the passenger side of the vehicle. The hose will be attached; or loose. Please understand that a code retrieval and an internet search is not a proper diagnosis as there are several other possibilities that can cause the code to set. Some of the possible causes could be spark plugs, ignition coils, intake manifold leaks, intake plenum leaks, vacuum hose leaks, failing airflow meter, failing O2 sensors, exhaust manifold leaks, low fuel pressure, failing ECU, faulty wiring harness, failing injectors, etc… As you can see, the list of possibilities runs on and on. This is where the expertise and experience of a qualified technician with the proper diagnostic tools and procedures becomes invaluable. I strongly suggest having a qualified technician perform an inspection to avoid replacing unnecessary parts and determine the exact cause of the code. Your Mechanic has several available technicians that can assist you with a check engine light inspection.

installing a upper radiator hose, about an inch down the piece you slide the hose over has a raised lip, do i slide hose over lip
ANSWER : Hello, thank you for writing in. Correct, you want to place the hose clamp between the two raised lips. If the hose will willfully go over the second lip, that is fine. The goal is to have the hose beyond the first lip, and have that lip there to give the clamp something to hold the hose on with. The second lip is to give an area for the hose to recede down into so the hose clamp can get a good grip. The longer the hose stays in place, the more the hose will form to the area giving you a good seal.

Hi Peter. Can you help me please. I have a 2002 Jeep liberty sport. I have owned this wonderful little truck for 10 yrs with littl
ANSWER : If you don’t periodically remove the spark plugs from the cylinder head (100,000 miles is typical), the plugs can essentially weld themselves to the aluminum head of the engine and then when you do belatedly service them, upon removal the spark plugs threads in the head will be damaged. So, there are actually a number of reasons why replacement of spark plugs is not optional. At 100,000 plus miles there is probably additional required maintenance, or at minimum inspections, that should be performed, too, in order for you to obtain the maximum useful service life from the vehicle. If you desire spark plug replacement, please use YourMechanic’s service page for spark plug replacement and the responding certified mechanic will get this taken care of for you and advise you as to other maintenance required on the vehicle. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic as we are always here to help you.

Failed inspection due to e brake not working please help me identify parking brake and emergency brake?
ANSWER : What aspect of it do you need identified? To start, the parking brake and the emergency brake are the same part. Those are the two of the names given to the additional brake or hand brake as it is also known. The parking brake on your vehicle will be a pedal that is located to the far left side next to your normal brake pedal and accelerator pedal. Once you press the brake pedal down, you will need to pull the handle to release it. This brake uses the same brake components as your normal brakes, but gives you a different way to activate them. This is for when the vehicle is unmanned, or in case of emergencies. The parking brake is always connected to the rear brakes on the vehicle.

Engine swap details needed. I need to know if the swap will fit.
ANSWER : Hi there. When it comes to swapping engines for your vehicle, what you can do is check all of the engine mounts and transmission mounts and make sure that they will work. If the mounts are a little off but there is room, then you may have to retro fit a custom mount. Check the length of the engine and the transmission assembly together. Make sure that the assembly is the same length. It may be okay if it’s a few inches shorter or longer, however, it cannot exceed 3 inches or the assembly will not fit. There has to be room for the engine to move around. Also, keep in mind, the CV shafts may not match up to the transmission and wheel hubs, especially if the transmission is shorter or longer. If you need further assistance with swapping your engine with another engine, then seek out a professional, such as one from Your Mechanic, to help you.
