I have a front right air suspension problem. The air strut will not raise when the car starts up.

I have change the air strut, air pump fuse, and the airmatic system relay all new. All the other tires raise except the front right tire. My interior clock and the Manuel suspension raise button also stopped working. I think it's a fuse or relay problem but I don't with on I should check.

My car has 110000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Experienced mechanics share their insights in answering this question :
This suspension system on your vehicle uses hydraulic fluid that supports the vehicle and different valves to control the active suspension. The right front unit showing any signs of leakage on the boot should be replaced. This vehicle may be involved in a suspension recall for defective front strut knuckles, and should be checked at a dealer by having them run the VIN number to see if it is a covered repair under the recall. The interior clock may just be a defective clock. The manual suspension button may be inoperative if there is a fault in the system like you have. If you would like an independent mechanic to check this, consider YourMechanic, as a certified technician can come to your home or office to inspect your suspension and let you know what needs repair.

How to Identify and Fix Common car Problems ?

Press and hold both the “air down” and “air up” buttons on the dash for 5 seconds at the same time. Start your vehicle`s engine and enjoy your newly reset AIRmatic suspension.
A faulty strut in the AIRMATIC system can often cause your car to sit awkwardly. In cases like this, one side of the vehicle will look lower than other sides, and it would look like the car is leaning towards that particular side.
Airmatic Strut Failure

When one or more air springs fails, your vehicle will sit lower when still and have an uneven height when driving. If you notice you seem to be tilted at odd angles, it could mean the struts are failing and need to be replaced.

Failure of the air suspension tubing connecting the air struts or bags to the air system. Air fitting failure resulting from initial fitting or infrequent use. Compressor burn out due to air leaks in the springs or air struts from the compressor constantly engaging to maintain the proper air pressure.
Symptom: the vehicle is lower in one or more corners. This symptom could also occur when there is a leak in the air spring. Fortunately, the actual cause can be easily identified by swapping the concerned air line in the valve block. If the valve block is the issue, the problem should then move to another corner.
The average cost for a Mercedes-Benz S550 Active Suspension System Air Compressor Replacement is between $1,257 and $1,297. Labor costs are estimated between $154 and $194 while parts are priced between $1,103 and $1,103.
One of the most common reasons why your vehicle will pull to one side is that your wheel alignment is off. Wheel alignment is designed to make sure that your tires rest evenly on the road both from side to side and top to bottom. If the alignment is off, your vehicle will pull in the direction of the misalignment.

Air Suspension Warning Light

The air suspension light means the vehicle`s inner computer believes there is abnormal activity. It will most likely appear if the compressor does not provide the amount of air it should. It is not recommended to drive with this light on.

My car will not start Intermittently. I purchased a new battery 2 weeks ago and yesterday the car wouldn’t start. Got a jump and
ANSWER : The issue you are having is probably due to an intermittent fault in the starter motor itself or a deficiency in the starter electrical circuit, for example a large voltage drop due to a poor ground or a high resistance connection. These issues can be readily diagnosed and resolved on a mobile basis if you request a hard starting diagnostic. If you request that diagnostic, the responding certified mechanic will get this resolved for you promptly. Based on Toyota’s Factory Service Manual, the battery should not be disconnected if the vehicle engine is running. The battery acts as a large resistive voltage sink and consequently taking the battery out of the circuit, while the alternator is still running, can create a voltage spike on the car’s electrical system which is not good for voltage sensitive components such as the engine computer. car hesitates when trying to start the car ,but when started then i shut car off and start again it will start right up
ANSWER : Hi there:

Sometimes when you have problems starting an engine initially it is caused by a restriction in fuel flow; caused either by clogged fuel injectors or the throttle body that needs to be cleaned. Once the fuel starts to flow and engine warms up, it’s much easier to start. However, it could also be an air filter, EGR valve or other components that causes this issue as well, which is why it’s best to have a professional mobile mechanic complete a car is hard to start inspection so they can pinpoint the source of this issue.

My car will be starting perfect and when the gas tank gets lower it will start having problems .
ANSWER : Based on the information you gave, it sounds like a possible fuel starvation issue, caused by a partially blocked, in-tank fuel filter or a crack in the fuel pump housing. The remedy would be to replace the fuel pump assembly and filter. The overheating may be caused by several things, including a stuck thermostat, faulty water pump, or even a cracked head gasket. I suggest having a certified technician, like one from YourMechanic, inspect the relevant systems to pinpoint the cause of your vehicle’s hard starting issue and overheating problem.

Map sensor car won’t start up good ?
ANSWER : Your MAP sensor is an important input for your computer. It helps determine the load on the engine to calculate the correct amount of fuel to inject. It sometimes takes a few seconds for the vehicle to realize that the sensor is not producing a good signal.

At that point, it will use other methods to determine the fuel rate, such as pre-programmed fuel maps, throttle position, etc. I would suggest replacing the MAP sensor and retesting. If you would like to have it checked first, a certified technician from YourMechanic will be able to scan your vehicle and test components to determine the root cause of your starting issue before making a repair.

Car will not start intermittently while in PARK but always starts on NEUTRAL.
ANSWER : Hi there, thank you for writing in and providing a detailed description. I’d be happy to give my insight on what to do next.

I would make the same conclusion about the neutral safety switch. I think Pep Boys made the right call. I admit, I don’t like to call a part bad without being able to duplicate the problem, but anytime a customer states their car starts in neutral but not park, we replace the neutral safety switch. I can’t recall a time that this move was wrong.

The intermittent nature of your problem does’t change this diagnosis either. The same electrical connection can work one moment and not the next. Electricity works at the atomic level that we as humans can’t directly observe, which is why we have tools to do electrical testing. Your tow truck driver got it correct.

Hope this helps and best of luck! If you’d like help replacing your neutral safety switch, consider having one of our expert automotive technicians come to your home or office to do it for you.

Battery and oil light come on when trying to start car, take keys out try again car starts no problem and lights go away
ANSWER : Of course, don’t switch gears without being fully stopped, unless your Owner’s Manual or the manufacturer has alternative advice. However, the gear shift issue has no relation to the no-start problem you are describing. Inasmuch as you only have 6,000 miles on the car, the "constant on and off" that you believe has occurred is meaningless in comparison to the expected total vehicle service life. That is, assume what you perceive as "constant on and off", during merely 6,000 miles, might be equivalent to using the car "normally" for three years. A new car should be trouble free for at least 5 years, unless there is a defect, so your "constant on and off" is not a causal factor for any fault on the vehicle. What you might have is a defect in the ignition switch, or perhaps the immobilizer system, but if the problem is not in the switch itself, clearly there is an electrical problem.

If your vehicle is under warranty, by law the dealer MUST repair the issue you are describing within a prescribed time frame and number of "attempts", otherwise the dealer will run afoul of Federal and state Lemon Laws that give you very specific rights, and recourse (contact an Attorney; we are Mechanics, NOT attorneys). Consequently, if the vehicle is still under warranty, to save yourself money do be sure to seek a resolution from the dealer. If the vehicle is not under warranty, obviously a certified Mechanic from YourMechanic could identify the electrical fault and resolve this for you. If you want to go that route, please simply request a no start diagnostic -electrical system and the responding certified mechanic will get this taken care of for you. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic as we are always here to help you.

My car AC blows cold air when the car is moving but when I’m at a red right it starts blowing warm air.
ANSWER : When the car is moving, versus stopped, there is more air flow over the condenser (the heat exchanger in front of the radiator) and that airflow is essential to system operation. To maintain airflow when the car is in stop and go traffic, or is completely stopped, condenser fans will come on automatically. If the fans don’t come on, the circumstance you have could occur. You might also have a low state of refrigerant charge. Other possibilities are that the compressor clutch is not cycling as intended or that the condenser might be blocked or dirty. And, of course, you could have a combination of these issues. To get this resolved, the best thing to do is request an air conditioning system inspection. The responding certified mechanic will come to your location, pinpoint the fault and get this resolved for you. Once diagnosed, the mechanic will be in a position to give you a repair strategy to get the A/C system fully functioning and he or she will estimate the cost of the required repair.
