Blades that are too long can hit each other and cause damage to the blade mechanism. If you`re unsure of what blade size you need, try looking in the owner`s manual or search for your vehicle blade size online.
Does Size Really Matter? Size matters to a point, just as long as you are about 1 inch higher or lower than your current wiper blade size. If you buy wiper blades that are too big, they might overlap or touch which will cause them to break.
This brand new replacement rim fits on a 2004-2005 Honda Accord. This is an aluminum wheel with a diameter of 16 and a width of 6.5. This wheel has 5 lug holes and a bolt pattern of 115mm. The offset of this rim is 55mm.
Nothing wrong will happen by using 22″ instead of 24″. All you will get is lesser wiping area. But no damage to be worried about. Regarding the other 17″ instead of 16″ wiper, only possibility is that the increases 1″ length could interfere with the other wiper or the edges of the windshield.
Tip: If you cannot find refills that match the length of your blades, buy the closest to your size and cut them using a knife to match your length. Ensure the width of the wiper refill matches your blade width. If you purchase a refill that`s wider than your blade, you`ll struggle with fitting it into your wiper.
Are expensive wiper blades worth it? Expensive wiper blades can make for a good investment, especially if the costs reflect added features like rain repellent or silicone blades. If you can justify the larger cost up front, they`re typically worth it.
Measuring windshield wiper blades is so simple, you might second guess yourself and wonder if there`s more to it. Nope! Use a tape measure to determine the length of the wiper blade along the rubber wiper edge. Round to the nearest inch, and there you go—you`ve got your wiper blade length!
Check Your Manual: Your vehicle`s manual should tell you what wiper blades size you need for each side and may even recommend a brand. Some vehicles have different size requirements for the driver and passenger sides, so read carefully before replacing your wiper blades.
The recent Honda Accord car models have a 26-inch driver`s side wiper blade and a 16-inch passenger side blade. Older models have the same size for the driver`s side blade but not the passenger side one, which is larger.

My front wipers main transmission linkage/bush broke when something hit them down the bonnet
ANSWER : Hi Josh. First, it’s always best to replace the wiper motor, wiper arms and wiper blades in one rather easy swap, but if you plan on keeping the vehicle for a few more ears, i’d suggest buying new parts. To access the wiper motor, you might want to search online for a Land Cruiser repair and service manual, as this will give you step-by-step instructions for completing this service.

Aftermarket wiper blades just seem to smear water on my windshield
ANSWER : I would recommend stoping by your local dealer and getting a pair of Nissan wiper blades for your car. Then I would get a good quality window cleaner and try and clean off the windows. If you are using a washer fluid with additives like Rain-X, then this fluid may put a film on your window that will not let the wiper make good contact with the window after it starts to build up. Try and use just plain window washer fluid and clean your windshield real good. This should fix the issue. If this doesn’t fix the problem, then have the windshield wiper system inspected for bent wiper arms and or defective glass on the window.

wiper blades working reverse
ANSWER : I suggest first inspecting the wiper crank arm assembly between the wiper linkage and the motor. It may have slipped out of position. If that is secure, then yes, it sounds like you need the wiper motor and module assembly. If you need help having this checked, a qualified technician from YourMechanic can inspect your wiper system and perform the needed repair.

Wiper has to manually be lifted before working – 1996 Chevrolet Beretta
ANSWER : You will have to replace the "wiper arm shaft" and/or wiper arm for the side which isn’t working. Both of these components have very small splines which interlock when the nut is tightened. A heavy snow or ice load can cause the splines to break down, or strip, rather than damage the electric motor. A certified technician from YourMechanic can replace the windshield wiper arm at your home or office.

My wind shield wipers wont work but i hear the motor but the wipers wont move
ANSWER : You can try to use a heat gun (REALLY carefully though, unless you intend to scrap your car) to melt any ice on the linkages to ensure that the linkages are not mechanically binding anywhere (due to ice; they can, of course, bind due to other causes). Of course, if it’s REALLY cold out, even that strategy is going to be problematic because whatever you unfreeze could instantly re-freeze. You just have to judge your circumstances or put the car in a warm garage for a short while. Heat gun or no heat gun, if you judge that there are no mechanical blockages, and you can SEE the motor turning, and yet the wipers aren’t moving, you could have stripped (broken) linkages.
If you cannot see what the motor is doing, the noise you are hearing could be the "humming" of a stuck motor, as opposed to an actually functioning motor. If you desire that the issue be diagnosed and the root cause(s) repaired simply request a non working wiper diagnostic and a certified mechanic will come right to your location and get this resolved for you. Please let us know if you have additional or followup questions.
